Meeting Dallin for the 1st time!

Meeting Dallin! Kirk and Lindsay's family came over to the Sheppert's on Easter, where Tom and Kathryn's family was staying. We met baby Dallin for the first time! He is just the cutest little thing you've ever seen.

Uncle Kirk holding Laura.
Emily (age 2) searching for Easter egg treasures in the back yard.
Sweet Dallin!
Competition for the Easter eggs was going to be tough, but the kids did great! If you ever wonder what the pull is to move to Washington, here it is: Our "Washington Family". 1st and 2nd cousins on Tom's side included.

5-year-old cousins. Do you think they look related?

Remember Van Auken?

Last week we traveled up the coast on a family/business trip. Here we are visiting the ol' Van Auken house. It was only a few blocks from where we were staying with Tom's uncle and his family -- Nicholas & Jameson's house is famous in these parts for their Lego collection. And their tendencies to give cool Legos to Jared when we visit. Jared LOVES visiting Northern California and often asks when we'll be going back -- year round.

Seeing this orange tree out front reminded me of the picture we have of Krystle sitting high in a similar orange tree wearing the "I heart London" t-shirt. She must have been about 4 years old in the photo. Was it this very tree?

Laura with Pigtails

Jared calls this her "Alien" hairstyle. I guess they do look a bit like antennae, don't they, but I'm just so happy she now has enough hair to make it cute every day!

Together again, yeah we're together again

Elder Price is finally off his mission and back into real life! Hooray! After a quick trip home to Champaign to get officially released, Mom whisked our Lil' Brudder away to sunny California (or somewhat sunny) for some R&R and to see his favorite sisters. Krystle and Kendra traveled hundreds of miles through slush and sleet - miles and miles through harsh conditions and one with a baby in her arms - to gather in California with Kara, Kathryn, Mom and Grandma Joyce. We were very sad the Washington Prices couldn't make it. Kirk and Lindsay we missed you! I don't know about everyone else, but I wish I could see little Emily say "I'm a beast!" and to squeeze little Dallin's cute cheeks! We missed you terribly, but no lie, we still had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the trip!

Friday was the first day we were all together. Unfortunately it rained ALL DAY. So we made the best of it and went to the mall! I was a little bias in this decision, but it did give the kids a chance to run around without destroying Kathryn's or Kara's home. Plus Mom and I went to the MAC store so it was totally worth it!

The next day we went to Balboa Island and we took the ferry. I think this was one of Mom's favorite, it reminded her of when we first moved to Southern California and took the family to Balboa Island. Dad kept saying that we were going to take the ferry, but we didn't see any ferry. Where were the 200 car ferries that we rode in Washington?? This didn't make sense! All we saw was the dinky little platform. Even as we were pulling away from the docks Kenneth and I kept asking about the location of the ferry Dad had promised.
Jared was so excited to be on the water he couldn't pull himself away to look at the camera! Good thing Uncle Kenneth was there to help.

The whole gang on the "'Ferry"
One of my favorite attractions on Balboa Island. There's ALWAYS MONEY IN
THE BANANA STAND!!!
No one was as excited as Daryn to get some ice cream!
Mom was so happy that her kids were getting along!
Jared was VERY serious about his ice cream
Kayden loved her frozen banana
Elder Price!
Daryn didn't want to let Krystle have a bite
Krystle loved getting her picture taken
More please!
Just a little more?
Jared doesn't look to sure about his crazy Auntie with her camera.
Spirit Fingers!
After Balboa we got to visit Grandma Joyce in Lancaster! We had such a great time playing instruments and looking through Grandma's pictures.

Thank you Mom and Dad for letting us go to California! It was a blast!
